One of the most significant challenges currently facing humankind is to make and supply enough food to sustain an active healthy lifestyle for a growing population.

Lancaster University, supported by Waitrose, are pleased to offer a flexible Postgraduate Professional Training Programme, focused on global food security challenges and opportunities.

Our programme is delivered largely online to enable students to continue working whilst studying. The programme is designed to enhance professional development and allows students to work towards a Lancaster University postgraduate qualification.

Your study will be on a modular basis, with most modules running over a 12 week period.  Programme modules reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the challenges faced by those working in the food chain.  Students can choose to study a diverse range of topics identified by both academic and business providers as key to addressing current and future food security challenges.

The study is initially to Postgraduate Certificate level (4 modules totalling 60 credits).  Students can progress to a Postgraduate Diploma (8 modules totalling 120 credits).  Completion of an additional supervised research project would lead to a Masters degree.
